So sad to hear this news about my friend Zorba. Chuck was a good friend, a tenacious teammate on the gridiron, and a memorable character for all. He would always be the center of attention wherevery his was. I still tell folks about his imitation of Linda Blair in The Exorcist and his trademark phrase, "You're a liar!" There will never be another Zorba T. Greek. I was hoping to see him at our 50th reunion, but I am even more diappointed that I will be unable to attend his celebration of life in October. He was a close friend since grade school (when he was Charlie). I think it was Mr. Murphy who started calling him Chuck. Then he became Zorba T. Greek, and the rest is history. I wish I could have spoken to him more before the end.
SO sorry to hear about Zorba. Charlie was such a positive classmate, always managed to take things in stride with a smile or laugh. I pitied the lineman who were in Zorba's face. He played 120%. Appreciate everyone's comments and sorry I won't be at his celebration of life. Thanks for your life and example, Zorba.
